Description:
This book recounts the history of the pakistan area from the perspective of present-day Pakistan.
From the prehistoric Pakistan to the modern age- its all here. Meet the Baluchitherum, the hornless rhinocerous that could have looked over a two-storeyed house; accompany Alexander the Great in his conquests, experience the Mughal Empire in all its glory and splendour; and finally join our leaders in their struggle for Independence.
For too long, the history of Pakistan has meant the history of Muslim rulers in Delhi and Agra, of British rulers in Calcutta, Delhi, and Simla, and of educated Muslims in Aligarh and Lucknow.
We must take note of the positive and negative contributions of all groups, Muslim and non-Muslim, from both East and the West, of the area that comprises present-day Pakistan.
Pakistan by its very survival and growth has proved that it deserves a serious historical study centered upon its own land and peoples. This book is a beginning in this direction.
