Readers Comments
Memories of Jinnah is a refreshingly personal and human view of the Quaid-i-Azam, written with candour and sincerity by the man who was his Private Secretary for three and a half years. Khurshid was with the Quaid during the fateful years between 1944 and 1947 when the battle for Pakistan was fought and won.
Description:
Part I of this book is based on the notebooks kept by Khurshid over the years, recording his memories of Mr. Jinnah. Khurshid had shared many of Mr. Jinnah's confidences and reveals little-known aspects of the Quaid's personality. But it is a discreet account. He also leaves out a great deal, making hardly any mention of the Quaid's private life.

Part II consists of his conversations about the Quaid with Malik Khizar Hyat Khan, Qazi Isa, Chaudhri Mohammad Ali, Mumtaz Hasan and Sunder Kabadi - one of Mr. Jinnah's Bombay acquaintances. He also quotes Miss Fatima Jinnah on Bolitho's book on the Quaid.
During the epoch-making 1944-47 period, Khurshid had the opportunity of observing the Quaid at close quarters and be privy to his thinking. He has succeeded in reconstructing the Quaid's thinking during the period and provides several invaluable footnotes to the history of those times. In that sense, this is a unique document.
