Nusrat’s brand of music is completely inimitable. Although accompanied by his band of loyal performers its more his voice than music that has brought him praise from unexpected quarters. Peter Gabriel a long time friend and admirer after working with him on the soundtrack of Martin Scorcese’s Last Temptation of Christ felt that there is “more intensity from Nusrat’s voice than any other singer alive”.
