Description:
The seventies has been an epoch-making era in the history of international relations. The notable events that marked this period were the thaw in the cold war, the beginning of the Soviet- American detente, and normalization of Sino-American relations. These occurances had far-reaching implications for the world in general and the third world in particular.
This book comprises twenty-eight articles selected from various issues of the quaterly journal Pakistan Horizon, written by contributors both in Pakistan and abroad. It highlights important aspects of Pakistan foreign policy during the cold war and post-cold war period, covering the last three decades. The papers included in the book discuss foreign policy in the context of the changed regional and global scenario and the emerging realities of the post-cold war unipolar world.
