Description:
This 3 CD set includes: Zia Mohyeddin Reads: Vol 4, 5 & 6
Zia Mohyeddin returns with over 3 hours of his usual, refreshing rendering of poetry and humorous Urdu prose. However, this time around, Saadat Hasan Manto, Allama Iqbal, Krishn Chander, Shaukat Thanvi and Ibn-e-Insha join the already select band of connoisseurs (from the previous volumes) whose work is read by Zia Mohyeddin.
Review: Once again a quality mix of poetry and humor ensure the entertainment value of the CD set. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan's comparison of wild dogs and their behavior to uncivilized, uncouth people, is both believable and enjoyable at the same time. Muhammad Hussain Azad's eloquent description of the different seasons and their effect on nature and the people in general is a rich example of Urdu literature.

Pitrus Bukhari's, Lahore ka Geographia will amuse many. The way Pitras Bukhari, using his web of words weaves a critical description of Lahore is an effort to be appreciated.
Ibn-e-Insha's inclusion has further enhanced the value of the set.
With every connoisseur bringing a different flavor of poetry and humor to this collection, the only thing consistent is Zia Mohyeddin's refreshing tone that easily adapts to the mood and flavor of the prose or poem being recited.
